Set against the backdrop of the Titanic’s grandeur, the story follows two young lovers from vastly different social classes: Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a penniless artist, and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), a young woman from an affluent family. Jack and Rose meet aboard the ship, and their passionate romance unfolds despite the constraints of societal expectations and Rose’s engagement to the wealthy but controlling Cal Hockley (Billy Zane).
The film’s narrative shifts between the present day and the past, as a treasure hunter named Brock Lovett (Bill Paxton) seeks a valuable necklace, the Heart of the Ocean, from the wreck of the Titanic. His team uncovers a drawing of Rose wearing the necklace, prompting them to locate the now-elderly Rose (Gloria Stuart). As she recounts her memories, viewers are drawn into the tragic events leading to the ship’s sinking.
