To heal himself and return to his old life, Strange travels to Nepal. There, he meets the Ancient One, portrayed by Tilda Swinton, who teaches him about magic and different dimensions. As he learns to control his New abilities, he battles Kaecilius, a dark sorcerer played by Mads Mikkelsen, who wants to bring the dangerous being Dormammu to Earth.
